Did you know that UMSU has over 200 University of Manitoba student employees? Whether it is serving drinks at the Hub, selling bus passes at Answers, preparing meals at Degrees, or making photocopies at the Digital Copy Centre, the people who work for UMSU are students just like you! UMSU prides itself on providing fun, rewarding, and convenient employment to so many of our fellow students.

Applying to UMSU

UMSU operates many businesses and services, including the following: Degrees Diner, Archives, GPAs, IQs, Answers, Bison Patrol, UMSU Living, The Hub (Pub) and the Digital Copy Centre. Given this, UMSU is looking for staff with a wide variety of skills and experience.

Most new UMSU staff members are hired in August and September due to the increased demand for UMSU services in the Fall and Winter term. If you’ve ever wanted to work for UMSU, the best time of year to apply is in July/August after you have selected your courses.

If you are applying to start work in August/September, we ask that you only apply once you have selected your classes for Fall. Because UMSU is dedicated to providing employment which fits with students busy schedules, it is important that we have this information before making any hiring decisions.

Note: From time to time we do hire for positions which fall outside of our standard needs for part-time help in our businesses and services. These include full-time positions and positions which require specialized skills and experience. For such positions, we will publicize detailed job postings and instructions on how to apply.
